Motor Overload Setting Arithmetic

Calculates an entered percentage of motor nameplate current. The correct overload percentage depends on motor and protection conditions and must be verified against the adopted NEC edition and device instructions.

Inputs

Range: 0.001–100,000 A

Enter the motor nameplate current for overload-setting arithmetic; do not substitute table FLC unless the device instructions and applicable rules permit it.

Range: 1–1,000 %

Enter the setting factor verified for the motor, overload device, service factor, temperature, and adopted requirements.

Result

Calculated relay setting
12.50 A
Calculated relay setting
\frac{\mathrm{Motor\ nameplate\ current\ (A)} \cdot \mathrm{User\-verified\ setting\ factor\ (\%)}}{100}
\frac{10 \cdot 125}{100}
